Still going....

Dear all,
We are still going, slow and steady pace. The wind has gone light over the
past couple of days, but we should be there on Friday/Saturday.
Today is the last day of fresh meat from the freezer, so we are onto tinned
food and any fish we can catch. We are also about to finish off the last of
the vegetables, except for onions, potatoes and cabbage :-(

Reports from friends that have arrived is that its busy and fuel is being
rationed out at 5 gallons a time only!!!

Our noon position was: 09 25S, 133 49W just 305 miles left to go.

Hope everybody is well,

Shower Day!

Dear all,

This is Margaret here, thought I would share my shower experience with you,
as you all use your lovely bathrooms!
think of us at sea.

I wish I could shower in a room that doesn't move,
And I get the hump, going to the toilet,
having to Pump, Pump, Pump!

They suggest I go alfresco,
so I said, I'll give it a go,
For a while it was quite nice, washing in the sun,
I quite liked it, it was fun.

But it didn't last long and little did I know,
How dangerous soap can be,
And your stuff doesn't stay where you put it,
When a wave comes out of the Sea.

I started with my hair and little did I know,
How far all that soap suds would run and go,
it dribbled down by back and on by bum too!
That's when I got in trouble, sliding To and Fro.

As the boat rocked, the faster I did slide,
all that soap on my Bare Raw Hyde.

Holding on to the guard rail was a good idea,
as I might of slipped Over Board, I fear,
I landed on the floor in a soap sud heap,
All I wanted was a shower!
Trying not to weep.

Oh! I wish I had a grippy mat, under my backside,
so I didn't Slip and Slide.

Oh!!!! I wish I could shower in a room that didn't move!

Ps. All this happened whilst Stu & Laura were off watch in bed, Thank
goodness.

Our noon position was: 08 55S, 126 54W

Hope all is well on dry land only another 658 miles to go to Hiva Oa, Lv
Margaret and all aboard Ocean Lady
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.

Slow Progress!

Dear all,

The past 24 hours we have made slow progress. The number of days before we
arrive has been going up rather than counting down :-(

On the plus side we only had a couple of rain showers last night and they
generally occurred on Alan and Margaret's watches! On the down side, we are
eating our last fresh peppers and cabbage tonight before opening the tinned
veg!

Our noon position today was: 08 38S, 124 57W with just 780 miles to go!!
Yippee!

Thank you for the nice weather, now please send wind!

Dear all,

Following the rainy weather we are now drying out with clear blue skies. The
deck is so hot you can not stand on it! However, the down side is we now do
not have enough wind to sail at any reasonable speed without the sails
banging on the shrouds. But it means we can get some air down below into the
sauna and charge the batteries fully.

Our noon position today was: 08 27S, 122 46W with just over 900 miles to
go!! Yippee!

Please send good weather......

Dear all,

The weather has been horrible for the past 20 hours - not what we expected!!
Frequent rain, the most amazing lightening display, lots of wind, no wind,
thunder etc! if it was not for the high temperature I'd say we were in the
North Atlantic.

Yesterdays noon position was: 07 41S, 118 14W
Today's noon position was: 08 02S, 120 46W

Still only 1035nm left to go!

Hope everyone is well, Love Ocean Lady

We are over half way!!!

Dear all,

This morning we celebrated crossing the half way mark. As with all special
occasions we will have sausage and mash for supper tonight!! Just 1500
nautical miles to go!!

Sorry for the premature mothers day wishes, we read an email which could be
read in a way to suggest that mothers day was yesterday. So as not to
disappoint we sent lots of emails wishing happy mothers day and had lots of
replies saying its next Sunday (18th).
Unfortunately I still won't be going anywhere near a post box for the next
10 days so the card will be late - perhaps a message in a bottle would be
better.

Yesterdays noon position was: 07 05S, 109 54W
today's noon position was: 07 18S, 112 39W

Happy Birthday to Sarah Lee for the 13th March, hope Matt and Jakey spoil

Hello from the South Pacific!

Dear all,

Our passage to the Marquises' is still going!
Good winds persist, but with the following sea we have the odd wave coming
from abeam which tries to jump into the cockpit, which is quite alarming
when your having a nap!!
We still have two reefs in the main sail and a poled out yankee doing 6-7
knots over the
ground.
Last night we saw our first sailing yacht from the World ARC come and
overtake us - actually our first yacht since leaving the Galapagos islands.
Laura is cooking tonight and we are being treated to a beef stir-fry.

Our noon position yesterday was: 07 01S, 102 46W
Noon position today (9/3/2012) was 07 14S, 105 05W

We now have 1925 nautical miles left to go!!

Love to all,

Hello everyone,

Life onboard is good at the moment, we have full main, cruising shute and
poled out headsail making 6.5 knots towards the Marquesas.

short lived and a comfortable night.

Are we there yet???

Hello Everyone

We have left Santa Cruz in the Galapagos islands to head to our next
destination the Marquesas 3000 miles ahead of us! We are now settling into
life back at sea and enjoying light but sailable winds. We have our
cruising shoot up, the sun is shining and all is well aboard Ocean Lady.

We had vision of our friends on Seazan until late last night, but their boat
is slightly faster than ours, so we will probably see them next for drinks
in the Marquesas! Good times!

Our current position is 02 11.6 South and 91 37.98 West.

Lots of love to all at home!
